Philip Dawe, Director

Phillip was appointed a director of Stanley Gibbons (Guernsey) Ltd in 2007 with responsibility for the development of new rare stamp and autograph investment business overseas.
Prior to joining Stanley Gibbons, Phillip spent 30 years as an International Manager with HSBC in a diversity of roles based in Europe, the Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei), the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
He was most recently Chief Executive Officer of HSBC in Mauritius and director of HSBC Bank (Mauritius) Ltd, the largest offshore bank in that region. He also served as Chairman of the Mauritius Bankers Association, was a member of the Joint Economic Council and was Hon Vice President of the Institute of Financial Services (Mauritius).

Adrian Roose, Director

Joined Stanley Gibbons in 1993 after studying Economics and Public Affairs at University. Adrian is now a Director of Stanley Gibbons (Guernsey) Limited, the offshore arm dedicated to rare stamp & autograph investment.

Tom Ogier, Administrator & Investment Adviser

Tom joined Stanley Gibbons in December 2007 from the travel industry. A Guernsey native, Tom over sees the Administration of the investment department liaising with clients to complete their contract paperwork and confirming when funds have been received.

Richard Purkis, Director

First joined Stanley Gibbons in 1977. He was appointed a Director of Stanley Gibbons Limited in October 1996 and to the parent Company Board in January 2003. He is also Group Company Secretary. Richard oversees the activities of the Investment Department and has represented the company at exhibitions both at home and overseas.

Joined Stanley Gibbons as Investment Sales Adviser having been a stamp and autograph enthusiast for many years. As a boy, he collected Great Britain stamps and postcards, before turning to prestamp and Victorian postal history.

Richard Nowak, Portfolio Administrator

Joined Stanley Gibbons in 2008 as Portfolio Administrator. Richard read Chemistry at Oxford before joining HSBC in 1979 and subsequently set up his own consultancy practice advising businesses on telecommunications and energy procurement. He is a Governor of his local Further Education College and has a lifelong interest in philately, especially GB and Eastern Europe.
